Postseason fever has returned to Madison Square Garden (MSG) for the first time in eight years.
And if the Knicks basketball team advances to the next stage, they could soon be playing in front of more fans.
The team announced that, starting in the second round, the arena will only sell tickets to fans who are fully vaccinated during the rest of the final matches.
That means there will no longer be seating sections where social distancing is practiced.
Fully vaccinated fan areas do not require physical distancing or the use of masks when seated.
Per state regulations, large indoor spaces can function at 100% capacity if all visitors are vaccinated.
The Knicks have had about 15,000 people in their first two games of playoffs at home and 16,000 are expected for Game 5 against Atlanta.
The total capacity of the MSG is approximately 20,000 people.
