Cerro Porteño culminated its participation in the 2021 Apertura Tournament with a defeat at the hands of Guaraní. The cyclone fell 2-0 on its visit to Dos Bocas.
In this way, the team led by Francisco “Chiqui” Arce finished the contest without knowing of victories in its last four presentations.
The last success at the local level of the cyclonic entity dates back to date 14, when in La Nueva Olla it defeated the arch-rival of all life, Olimpia, 2-0 in the superclassic.

With the match against Cerro Porteño and which meant a 2-0 victory for Guaraní, the technical director Gustavo Costas led his last match in front of the “Legendario”.
In his second cycle, he accumulated 49 wins, 22 parities, 29 falls and obtained 56% effectiveness. He was runner-up of the 2020 Clausura tournament and reached the round of 16 of the 2020 Copa Libertadores. He was also vice-champion of the 2019 Paraguay Cup.
As expected, the “Legendario” prepared an emotional audiovisual material to say goodbye and give due thanks to the Argentine professional.
