The 39th season of the Planet Pure Women’s Bundesliga ends this weekend with great emotions.
While the relegation battle between SKV Altenmarkt / Triesting and SV Horn will not be decided until Sunday (12:00 p.m., live on ORF Sport +), the champions of the spusu SKN St. Pölten will already be today – as part of the home game against FC Bergheim – solemnly honored. For the first time, SKN captain Jasmin Eder receives the master plate, which was redesigned in the spring.
Kolb prevails at the premiere
The player of the season was also honored for the first time this season. In the election organized by the ÖFB and carried out among the trainers and fans of the Planet Pure Women’s Bundesliga, Lisa Kolb from USV Neulengbach (29 points) won ahead of Mateja Zver (spusu SKN St. Pölten / 21) and Katja Wienerroither (SK Sturm Graz / 11) .
The name of the 20-year-old, who is moving to SC Freiburg (Germany) in the summer, can be found on the voting forms of all trainers who are entitled to vote. Liese Brancao (spusu SKN St. Pölten), Mario Graf (SG Austria Wien / USC Landhaus), Benjamin Stolte (FC Wacker Innsbruck) and Susanna Koch-Lefevre (FC SKINY Südburgenland) ranked the striker in first place three third mentions. Kolb, who is well on the way to becoming the top scorer with 19 goals, received the fourth most votes from the fans. (›The results in detail)
Trophy with a heart: custom-made by Lebenshilfe Vorarlberg
Kolb received the award surprisingly a few days ago during training from fellow player Linda Mittermair. The Upper Austrian, who had to struggle with some stubborn injuries in her very young career, could not hide her emotions.
“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me from the bottom of my heart. It has not always been easy in recent years, which is why I appreciate the award all the more. It is very important, ”said Kolb at ÖFB TV.
The ÖFB team player also thanked USV chairman Thomas Wirnsberger and the coaching team around Katja Gürtler for their trust, but above all emphasized the performance of their teammates. “I know that an award like this always goes to the entire team. As a striker, I can only score goals if my teammates put me in the limelight. That’s why it’s an award for all of us and I was allowed to accept it on our behalf, ”said Kolb.
PLANET PURE and Lebenshilfe Vorarlberg are responsible for the design and manufacture of the trophy. “We wanted to create a trophy that, on the one hand, reflects our philosophy and, on the other hand, expresses our support for Austrian women’s football,” says Stefan Plut from PLANET PURE, who received the trophy as part of the final Bundesliga game between FC Wacker Innsbruck and USV Neulengbach ( 3: 1) officially handed over to the winner again.
The 1.6 kilogram heavy sculpture was made entirely of wood by Karl Seeberger and the team from Lebenshilfe Vorarlberg, which has represented the interests of people with disabilities and their relatives for over 50 years.
In addition to typical football elements, a heart was also incorporated. “Planet Pure has a heart for nature and people. The heart therefore stands equally for sustainability in the sense of our planet and the passion that our female soccer players bring up every day. We hope that the trophy will have a special place, ”says Plut.
Kolb confirms: “I am aware that this is a very special trophy. I think the idea behind it is really cool. She will definitely have a special place in my home. “
Zver and Wienerroither are just left behind
Behind Kolb – as the best placed legionnaire – Mateja Zver takes second place. The Slovenian, who has been shaping the game of the “Wolves” since 2015, was also at the top of the ballot for four coaches. Christian Lang (SK Sturm Graz), Katja Gürtler (USV Neulengbach), Jessica Thieß (FFC Vorderland) and Milivoj Vujanovic (SKV Altenmarkt / Triesting) saw the offensive player in front. Zver finished eighth among the fans.
Andreas Strasser saw neither winner Kolb nor Zver at the front on his ballot paper. The Bergheim coach decided on Katja Wienerroither from Salzburg. The now Sturm Graz goal getter also received points from Graf and Koch-Levefre (each second mention) and thus took third place in the final bill.
Fan voting: Katja Dorn mobilized the best
The votes of the fan voting also flowed into the final result. In the favor of the supporters, other players were right at the front. Most of the supporters were united by Katja Dorn from SKV Altenmarkt / Triesting. The U19 national player recorded 1215 votes and secured five points for the overall standings.
Behind them were goalkeeper Magdalena Eberhardt (FC SKINY Südburgenland), who received 174 votes and thus three points, and Croatian Andrea Glibo (FC Wacker Innsbruck), who scored one point for the overall standings thanks to 70 votes.
A total of 89 different names appeared on the fans’ ballot papers. Over 2000 votes were registered.
