The simultaneous call of 200 people to 012, to be vaccinated against COVID19, caused the collapse of the telephone service of the Government of the Canary Islands. The regional Executive had enabled this system, with the incorporation of 300 people as reinforcement, so that those born between 1952 and 1955 (66, 67, 68 and 69 years) could call and make an appointment in order to receive the first dose of AstraZeneca.
Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government has been forced to remember, through its official Twitter account, that the telephone number for prior appointment 012 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife: 922470012 and Las Palmas: 928301012) is available at 24 hours a day, every day of the year, so it recommends “call at another time if the lines are saturated”
VACCINATION RECORD
Meanwhile, the vaccination process continues in the Islands. This Thursday, coinciding with the opening of the mass vaccination centers in Tenerife (Aulario de Guajara, CTCAN and Garachico office), the Canary Health Service announced a new “record” of administered doses. More than 18,400 injections were inoculated yesterday, in a single day.
