Finally, the competition was between Erlend Gunstveit (25) from Grimstad, who has been mentored by Matoma, and Maria Petra Brandal (20) from Horten, who has been on Espen Lind’s team.
It was “I will wait” by Mumford & Sons that qualified Gunstveit for the super final. By the way, he posed in a bunad for the occasion.
Brandal sang his way to the super finale with Laleh’s “Some Die Young”.
In the super final, she performed with Moddi’s “House by the Sea”, while Gunstveit sang Joni Mitcell’s “Both Sides Now”.
– It means an enormous amount. I am completely speechless, says Gunstveit after the victory with a shocked grin on his face.
Mentor Matoma, who also posed in a bunad for the occasion, got up from his chair and used a few words to describe his feelings after the 25-year-old from Grimstad won.
– It’s so Team Matoma! FULL FRESH !, shouted the DJ from the red chair with a big grin.
The final was between four finalists and was decided on Friday night. Natan Dagur (21) from Lillehammer and Iceland, and Sofie Fjellvang (20) from Kristiansand smoked out in the first round of the final match.
Dagur, who has been Ina Wroldsen’s participant, sang “Lost On You” by Lewis Capaldi.
Fjellvang was in team Yousef Wolde-Mariam and sang Toto’s «Africa».
VG received several tips from people who thought they were not allowed to vote for anyone other than the two super finalists. However, the tips came around the time the super finalists were ready.
– No, there have been no challenges with the vote tonight. It has simply gone smoothly, says press manager at TV 2, Jan-Petter Dahl to VG.
