The Duke of Cambridge sees the Duke of Sussex’s latest actions as “the difference between being a celebrity” and serving the public, the insider said. They told The Sun: “The pandemic, coupled with what Harry is doing, has actually given William a renewed sense of purpose.
“He can now really see the difference between being a celebrity and leading a decent life of public service.
“In times of crisis, the royal family reassures the public, which celebrities cannot do.”
During the Channel 5 royal family documentary ‘Charles & Harry: Father and Son Divided’, royal commentator Emily Andrews weighed in on the rift between the Duke of Sussex and those close to him.
Ms Andrews said: “After the [Oprah] interview, Gayle King who has become a close friend of Harry and Meghan, she said on her morning show that Harry spoke to his father and brother after the interview but the talks were “unproductive”.
“[This] only really added fuel to the fire.
“William and Charles thought that whatever I say to him, we have to be very careful because we cannot trust him to keep this private.”
Harry and Meghan’s revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey aired in March 2021.
Gayle King told CBS after the explosive conversation: “Well, I’m not trying to break news, but I called them to see how they were feeling, and that’s right, Harry spoke to his brother. and he talked to his father too.
“The word I was given was these conversations weren’t productive but they’re happy to have at least started a conversation.”
