The Netherlands accelerates the number of relaxations: “End …

The Netherlands will accelerate a number of relaxation of the corona measures. They go into effect on June 5 instead of June 9. Retiring Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced this at a press conference on Friday evening. According to Rutte, the relaxations “actually mean the end of the lockdown.”

From 5 June, home visits in the Netherlands will increase from two to four people per day. Museums, cinemas and theaters are also allowed to open again. Restaurants and cafes are allowed to let in a maximum of 50 people, but with reservations and fixed places. The opening hours will also be extended. From now on, the catering industry can receive customers from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., both indoors and outdoors. In addition, there will also be extensions for sports. Group sports are allowed again, but there is a maximum of fifty people for adults.

The next easing round will also be brought forward from July 21 to June 30. From that date, our northern neighbors can receive eight people at home and the maximum capacity for restaurants and cafes will be increased to one hundred people. In addition, the catering industry can now remain open until midnight. Competition matches are allowed again.

Delay in vaccination campaign

People over the age of eighteen in our northern neighbors will not have received their first shot against the corona virus until mid-July. That said the outgoing Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge. The vaccination program against the corona virus is delayed by about two weeks due to the supply problems at producer Janssen. “We need a little longer to give everyone the first shot. Instead of early July, it will be mid-July,” said de Jonge.
