According to the Daily Record, Manchester City’s Fergal Harkin has turned down a trade to SK Lommel after holding talks with Celtic.
City is said to have offered football association manager Harkin the opportunity to be ‘more practical’ with Lommel, one of their partner clubs.
However, Harkin has rejected the move as he apparently prefers Celtic rather than having spoken to the Bhoys about becoming their soccer director.
In fact, some sources believe Harkin’s snub is due to his about to move to Parkhead this summer.

Lommel is in Belgium’s second division and had five players on loan from City last season, including former Hibernian winger Thomas Agyepong.
They are owned by the City Football Group, but Harkin apparently decided to go to Celtic rather than stay in that group of clubs.

Celtic need a complete rebuild this summer, and that means adding a soccer director and coach.
It looks like Eddie Howe will take over the latter role, and Irishman Harkin is likely to follow a real step up from his current position at City, and certainly a bigger role than the one offered at Lommel.
