On 25 May, the State Employment Agency (SEA) and the European Employment Services Network EURES organized an online work day “Jobs and Careers in Latvia”. The event took place on the European Job Days platform and had more than 8,000 web views.
Latvian employers had offered jobseekers 795 vacancies with a salary of over 1,000 euros. Latvian companies and institutions such as Amber Studios, Arvato Systems Latvia, BITE Latvija, BTA Baltic Insurance Company, Cabonline Customer Service Latvia, Datika, Devre, Dinair Filton participated in the event. , “Forevers”, “G4S Latvia”, “Innovative Travel Solutions”, “Latvian National Archives”, “Magma”, “Maxima Latvija”, “National Armed Forces”, “Passenger Train”, “SSI SCHAEFER”, “Transcom Worldwide Latvia ”,“ Trelleborg Wheel Systems ”,“ Valmieras stikla šķiedra ”,“ Valpro ”,“ Valsts Nekustāmie īpašumi ”,“ Vervo ”,“ Yumaks ”and others.
580 jobseekers from Latvia and other European countries, such as France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, had created their profiles on the European Job Days platform. The online work day “Work and Career in Latvia” was a great opportunity to attract Latvian companies to those specialists who belong to our country, who currently live and work abroad, but want to return to Latvia.
Jobseekers registered to participate in the event were highly qualified specialists with a master’s or bachelor’s degree, they had more than five years of work experience. Job interviews were conducted online using a computer or mobile device with an Internet connection and Skype application.
Every participant and viewer of the online working day could also receive consultations on working and living conditions in Latvia, types of employment contract, business start-up opportunities, social guarantees and other issues. During the event, visitors to the European Job Day platform will be in public chatting had sent 210 messages with questions answered by EURES Advisers.
