Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri is said to have a debt of gratitude to one of the KPK employees who did not pass the national insight test (TWK).
This was revealed through the narrative of the Kasatgas Investigating KPK Harun Al Rasyid to Najwa Shihab behind the scenes of Mata Najwa. The behind-the-scenes conversation was recorded and uploaded on Najwa Shihab’s YouTube channel, Friday (28/5) afternoon.
According to Harun, Firli admitted that he was indebted to him when the KPK leader became Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK in 2018.
At that time, the KPK was very aggressive in holding hand arrest operations (OTT). Because of this achievement, Firli dubbed Harun the king of OTT.
“Firli said, I have a debt of gratitude, I will give you a gift,” said Harun imitating Firli’s statement at that time.
Years passed, Harun then collected the debt of gratitude to Firli directly when there was a TWK case, in 2021.
He asked his name and that of 74 other KPK employees who were declared not to have passed the national insight test to be considered and asked Firli not to do anything wrong. He also admitted that he did not ask for anything other than clarity on the fate of 75 KPK employees.
“The debt of gratitude you used to say you would give a gift to the OTT king doesn’t exist, where is it?” said Harun, imitating his words to Firli.
He also asked why Firli insisted on removing himself along with dozens of other employees from the KPK.
According to Harun, Firli replied that it was the will of Allah SWT. Harun then chimed in that God’s will depends on what Firli intends to do.
“He kept answering. In essence he said that this was against my will,” said Harun imitating Firli.
From Firli’s answer, Harun then interpreted that there was great power behind the attempt to fire dozens of KPK employees. The power is beyond Firli’s control and is suppressing her.
“I interpret there is a great force outside of him (Firli) that is alsopressure him,” said Aaron.
CNNIndonesia.com already contacted Firli to confirm Harun’s words about his debt. However, the person concerned has not responded until this news is published.
The KPK came into the spotlight after 75 of its employees were declared not to have passed the national insight test. This test is said to be a condition for changing the status of KPK employees to state civil servants (ASN) or PNS.
Several KPK employees who did not qualify were known to be handling major cases such as the Covid-19 social assistance corruption and bribery for exporting lobster seeds.
