Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
An unknown number of people (OTK) carried out an attack on the Oksam0l Sub-Sector Police Office in Oksamol District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Friday (28/5) early morning.
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, said the incident occurred at around 01.30 WIT. In the incident, the Head of the Oksamol Sub-Sector, Brigadier Mario Sanoy, was killed.
Kamal explained that initially Mario Sanoy was on guard with other people. Then, the people left the Oksamol sub-sector police at around 00.00 WIT.
“Meanwhile, Brigadier Mario Sanoy went into the room to rest. Then, at around 01.30 WIT, the public saw that there were approximately six unknown people who came to the Oksamol sub-sector police,” said Kamal in his written statement, Friday (28/5).
Kamal continued that Linmas members visited the Oksamol sub-sector police at 06.00 WIT. According to him, Linmas members saw from the window that Mario lay covered in blood on the floor.
The Linmas member then conveys it to the rest of the community. Until now, the community has not entered the Oksamol Sub-Sector Police Office because they are still waiting for a team from the Bintang Mountains Police to evacuate.
Kamal said his party would coordinate with the TNI to hunt down the perpetrators. The plan is that the Bintang Mountains Police will go to the scene using a helicopter to evacuate the victims.
“To note, the distance from Oksibil City to the TKP, namely in Oksamol District, can be reached on foot for one week, and if using a helicopter it can take 30 minutes,” he said
