“In this respect, we are pioneers in the Latvian market. The main desire is that customers use these electric machines and they form their own opinion. The feeling is that the amount of information in the public space is so large and often tendentious that it is better for a person to receive information from the first source – the machine itself, ”Aldis Lediņš, Skandi Motors after-sales department manager.
Not only electric car owners can apply for an electric replacement car. Skandi Motors wants to put the owners of ordinary cars in an emission-free car for at least a day. If the customer has no previous experience with electric cars, the sales specialist will explain everything – how and where to charge, how to drive more economically and how far you can get with such a car at all.
“Currently, the average mileage of electric cars is 300-400 km, which is quite enough, because most drivers do not drive more than 100 km a day,” says electric car expert Vilnis Debesnieks.
There are still many questions – how long does it actually take to charge, can it be done in the rain, and what will be the reach in the winter?
“It simply came to our notice then. You have to understand what fits the dimensions, the mileage, the rhythm. ”
Electric cars are still more expensive than comparable petrol cars. This deters many from buying such a vehicle. In other countries, the purchase of electric cars is stimulated by a state subsidy, which we do not have.
If there were this extra help, it would help many to choose in favor of an electric car. Companies are starting to choose electric cars for a variety of tasks, whether it’s public transport or supplies. However, Vilnis Debesnieks admits that the interest in electric cars is gradually growing. If in the past they were considered rather as an experiment or a pronounced second car, then the potential application of the latest electric cars becomes wider.
