Erfurt: ATMs blown up – where did the BANK-BOMBER hide the money? | Regional

Erfurt / Gera – The mills of justice, sometimes they grind slowly …

So slowly that serial sprinkler Sven S. (45) was apparently able to turn his next big thing! The bank bomber has had to answer to the Erfurt district court since Thursday.

Accusation: He and still unknown accomplices are said to have blown up an EC machine in the Globus market in Mittelhausen on February 6, 2020, stealing 126,485 euros! Property damage: 70,000 euros!

The criminal investigation investigated Sven S., arrested him in Potsdam at the beginning of December. His DNA traces matched the crime scene.

The Erfurt case is probably just one of many: In Thuringia alone, Sven S. is accused of five explosions of ATMs with acetylene. He and his bomber gang are said to have let it rip four times between November 2015 and May 2016 in the Greiz and Nordhausen districts. Loot: almost 600,000 euros.

Where did the total of 726,000 euros go?

Prosecutor Juliane Gellert does not want to comment on this, and Sven S. was also silent on Thursday about the allegation – just like in 2018. At that time, he was sitting in front of the Gera district court because of the other explosions.

Up to 15 years threatened him. But instead of being built, the bank bomber was released in October 2019. “The proceedings were suspended,” said Chief Public Prosecutor Thomas Riebel to BILD. The district court confirmed: “It has not yet been rescheduled.”

After all, the trial in Erfurt will continue on June 14th.
