Unsubscribing from social networks is not always easy and it is curious how within the Facebook group itself there are some methods and others. Instagram, to name one of the best known, does not include the menu we need within its app and forces us to go to its website to delete your account. On Facebook we can unsubscribe from the app itself, if we wish, or from the mobile version of its website.
In the case of unsubscribes from Facebook, the social network offers us two options at the last minute. We can permanently unsubscribe, deleting all our data and losing everything that we have uploaded since we signed up, or we can simply deactivate the account, which will allow us to activate it later and continue where we left off. We show you what is the process to carry out.
Delete or deactivate your Facebook account
As we have said, Facebook offers us two options when it comes to deleting the account from our mobile phone, the option of the mobile web and that of its own app. Both options are essentially identical since, for practical purposes, the Facebook app behaves as if it were an encapsulated web, maintaining the same identity regardless of the platform in which we find ourselves.

We are going to show you how to delete the Facebook account with screenshots of the Facebook app for Android but, remember, the method is practically identical on all platforms so the steps to be taken are essentially the same. And the steps to be taken are the following.
- We open the Facebook app and go to the upper right menu to display the options.
- Once the options are open, we go down through them until we find the section ‘Settings and Privacy ”, and we entered.
- The first option shown to us is’Setting’ and we agree again.
- In the first block of options with the name ‘Account’ we go to ‘Profile access and control ‘.
- The next step is to open ‘Deactivation and deletion ‘.
From this point on, Facebook already forces us to decide what we want to do with our account and it is as we mentioned before, we can choose to delete it forever or we can choose to deactivate it to return to it later if we feel like it. In both cases, the process will be more or less similar.
Facebook will warn us of what happens to our account if we delete it and deactivate it (as our pages will also disappear), and we will have to confirm that our decision is correct and that we have not gone there by mistake. After several more steps confirming that our wish is correct, Facebook will proceed to notify us that our account has been deactivated or deleted.
In the case of deletion of the account, Facebook will offer us a period of ‘grace’, to call it in some way. It will tell us that our account will be permanently deleted after a few days and that we may regret it if we log in again. Remember that to log in again is to reactivate the account, and we will have to cancel it again if we have made a mistake.
