This was in September 2020. Long before the last weeks’ bombing raids on Gaza. Long before Israelis had to flee into bomb shelters for fear of being hit by Palestinian rockets. Long before the world again turned its attention to the Middle East.

The incident is nevertheless a key to understanding why there was again war between Israelis and Palestinians.
