The US government is removing the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi from the blacklist. This was prompted by a district court in the USA.
The US Instagram and Facebook want to take the pressure to succeed on their platforms and give users the option to forego the display of like numbers. Tests have shown that the changes have no impact on the revenues of content authors. for the District of Columbia issued an order on May 25, 2021, with which the classification of Xiaomi as a “Chinese Communist Military Company” (CCMC) by the US Department of Defense was lifted.
Xiaomi announced this in a statement on Wednesday. With the removal of the classification, the court formally lifted all restrictions on US persons to buy or hold securities in the company.
In January of this year, the US government under ex-President Donald Trump blacklisted smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi after Huawei. The judge in Washington had expressed serious doubts about the legality of the proceedings against Xiaomi in March.
