Manchester United lose at Europa League final. This result makes the Red Devils fail to match the number of major titles they have Liverpool.
MU defeated Villarreal in the Europa League final. Playing at Miejski Stadium, Gdansk, Poland, Thursday (27/5/2021) in the morning WIB, the Red Devils lost on penalties.
After a 1-1 draw for 120 minutes, MU lost 10-11 in the high-five drama. MU’s last kicker, David De Gea, failed to hit the ball into the net.
The defeat made MU have to bite the fingers. Because, the fasting title of Marcus Rashford et al has now lasted for 4 years.
Other than that, Manchester United also failed to match access Liverpool. It is about the number of major trophies that the club has won throughout history.
The defeat to Villarreal makes the number of trophies still stop at 42. In detail, MU won 20 Premier League titles, 12 FA Cups, 5 Premier League Cups, 3 Champions Leagues, once the Europa League and once a Cup Winners’ Cup.
While Liverpool are still winning by one trophy, namely winning 43 major titles. In details, Liverpool have 19 Premier League titles, 7 FA Cups, 8 English League Cups, 6 Champions Leagues and 3 UEFA Cups (Europa League).
If added with other minor titles, Liverpool still winning one trophy. The Red collected 69 trophies, followed Manchester United who collected 68 trophies.
