Bulgaria is a very popular destination for families and is becoming more accessible from Germany thanks to the growing number of flight connections. Shortly after taking office, the new Minister of Tourism, Ms. Doz. Stela Baltova, the aim to simplify the entry for families and worked out simplified and logical measures with the health minister and professional associations.
Entry for children up to 6 years of age is free of the PCR test. Ms. Baltova announced that Bulgaria would like to go a step further as a family destination than other EU countries and it is being discussed that entry for children under 15 years of age without a PCR test should be made possible if accompanying parents are vaccinated. The previous free PCR test regulation only applies to children under 6 years of age. In addition, there is an important signal from the EU for more freedom of travel. Before the summer season, the digital Covid certificate, which is valid throughout Europe, should make travel easier for those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered and who have been tested.
Large hotel chains have announced their support by paying for adult PCR testing before they return home. The PCR tests are carried out in the hotels, making the return journey to Germany more comfortable. “The safety during the vacation is also increased by the fact that the employees in the tourism are vaccinated as a priority. Since Bulgaria is the only country in the EU that has been practicing tourism almost continuously since May 2020 and no hotel closings have been required, the great experience and the constant expansion and updating of the anti-corona measures can be emphasized as the most important advantage for Bulgaria, “says Minister Dr. Baltova. This excellent preparation for the current season and Bulgaria’s most important competitive advantage were also presented in the commercial: https://bulgariatravel.org/de/nutzlich/informationen-und-empfehlungen-zu-covid-19/
Bulgaria is no longer a high incidence area according to the RKI since May 2nd. From May 13th, 2021, all persons who tested negative before entering Germany can enter Germany without additional quarantine obligations. Since this is offered free of charge by many hotels in Bulgaria, the return trip for tested, vaccinated and recovered people can be planned without complications. The current figures in the holiday regions of Varna and Burgas with infection figures below 50 new cases give hope for a carefree holiday on the Black Sea coast. In the mountain landscapes (with an infection rate of less than 10 people / day), hiking and active tourism are ideal for healthy relaxation.
The choice of modern and very well-kept facilities directly on the Black Sea coast and also in the beautiful mountain landscapes, make the decision to vacation in Bulgaria even easier. Some news, like in the family hotels north of Varna, the younger guests are the top priority and real VIP visitors: children’s entertainment will take place here in July and August with extended opening times and especially outdoors. The offers sound tempting and range from art workshops, cooking courses, flower festivals, eco days and children’s yoga with professional trainers to dance courses and other entertainment activities for the whole family. The largest resort on the white sandy beach is known for its sports animation and offers a wide range of sports activities on its own sports fields. Parents can even book swimming lessons for their children all year round for a small fee. Beach volleyball and water sports are new to the program this year. In the new water sports center you can learn and train from SUP to catamaran driving. In some large international hotel chains on Sunny Beach you can relax in the 9000 square meter garden with pool area in a closed complex on the beach with controlled access. It is worthwhile to find out from the organizer or the hotel about the assumption of costs for the Corona Test before booking.
The managing director of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mitko Vassilev emphasizes the good cooperation and the exchange of information between German tour operators, the airport operator Fraport in Varna and Burgas and the hoteliers. Not only the new regulations and the modern facilities, but also the uninterrupted tourism for over a year offer vacationers in Bulgaria much more security.
