People who had taken a walk along the Eiffel Tower the night before must have noticed that the Paris symbol was lit in ecological green. The transformation of the city symbol was carried out within the framework of the Energy Observer’s Paris de l’hydrogène project, the green light symbolizing certified renewable hydrogen, which drives the Toyota fuel cell hydrogen generator GEH2 developed by EODev (Energy Observer Developments).
The GEH2 generator also supplies energy to the Energy Observer tents at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Several companies offering hydrogen energy and mobility solutions are showcasing their vehicles and applications to demonstrate a sustainable and innovative urban perspective for the future.

There is no doubt that solutions already exist. However, the efficiency of the hydrogen system in mobility solutions is not the best, which means that in the context of the European Green Course, which states that energy efficiency is one of the most important aspects of decision-making, hydrogen cell solutions are still in question. Also, the operating costs are not so sweet as to calculate the payback period.
We have ideas and technologies for moving towards sustainability – we have no conceptual or technological problems, but everything lies in morality, and we refuse to address it because the dominant economic view lacks an ethical dimension.

No matter how much Toyota praises hydrogen and highlights it as the only solution that will help achieve climate neutrality, the company plans to offer more battery electric car as hydrogen.
