The husband of a woman found dead Friday in a woodland area of Connecticut has been arrested and charged.
Jessica Edwards was found dead Friday in a wooded area in South Windsor, Connecticut. Her husband was arrested and explained that he and his wife had an argument at the couple’s home during which he realized “after a while she was no longer alive,” NBC reports. The autopsy revealed that the 30-year-old had succumbed to asphyxiation due to compression in the chest and neck. Presented to a judge on Monday, 22-year-old Tahj Hutchinson was jailed and his bail was set at $ 1.5 million.
The man was quickly suspected in this case. While the victim had been missing since May 10, he reportedly failed to give a clear explanation to the police. Analyzing data from the husband’s phone, investigators discovered that he had traveled to a wooded area, where the body was later found. He ended up confessing that he got into a fight with his wife on the morning of May 10, partly because she was angry that he had bought two guinea pigs for Mother’s Day. According to his account, he would have been worried that she would harm the animals and would have lost control. But the authorities have discovered other elements, beyond this couple’s argument. They learned that Jessica Edwards was planning to file for divorce.
