65.6% of the target population have received their first dose of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine

The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, reported that “17,788,791 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered. Of which 9,975,776 are people with the first dose and 7,813,015 are vaccinated people who have already completed their two doses ”.

Minister Paris pointed out that “the target population is 15,200,840 people, where 65.6% of the population has been vaccinated with the first dose and 51.4% of the population has been vaccinated with the second dose.”

According to the data provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information, until yesterday, Tuesday, May 25, until 8:58 p.m., 231,481 people were immunized, of which 177,859 are first dose and 53,622 with second dose.

The head of the portfolio also detailed that “3,044,153 people aged 60 years and over have participated in the campaign. Regarding gender, 53.2% of those inoculated correspond to women and 46.7% are men ”.

Minister Paris reiterated the call for the youngest, those between 29 and 26 years old, to get vaccinated. This week it is their turn and the authority indicated that they have “their commitment to continue caring for and protecting their own life and that of their families and friends.
