In the case, eleven people are facing charges, led by the former deputy mayor of Brno-střed town hall Jiří Švachula (formerly ANO), whom the public prosecutor’s office describes as the head of a corruption group that was to influence contracts worth up to half a billion crowns.
–
“I am ready to testify,” Jiří Faltýnek confirmed his summons to the Court of Justice, noting that he does not know the exact reasons for his summons.
–
However, the names of father and son Faltýnek resonated several times in police wiretaps. They were mentioned by a key witness to the case and also by one of the accused entrepreneurs Saman El-Talabani in connection with commissions from allegedly manipulated public contracts.
–
Jiří Faltýnek is a representative in Brno for Independent Representatives for Brno, otherwise he was at the birth of the Brno cell ANO and also worked in the city company Teplárny Brno.
–
Among other things, police wiretaps from El-Talabani said during a conversation with Švachula: “You robbed the False women and gave them thirty percent instead of the fifty, as you agreed. That’s what Truneček interprets about you in order to protect himself. “
–
Švachula replied, “What?” “But look, these are irrelevant things. In other words: The sentence fell a long time ago, I was waiting to see if you would be fair. The sentence was that we ended because you didn’t wear what you were supposed to wear, “El-Talabani responded.
–
“I’m fair,” Svachula defended. “So in other words, the Faltins may have cut it,” El-Talabani thought. “That’s not true…”
–
Jaroslav and Jiří Faltýnek have previously rejected any connection to the allegedly criminal group around Švachula. In addition to questioning Faltýnka, the court is hearing several other witnesses.
–
It is possible that the Chamber of Judge Bartošová will make closing remarks after that. The verdict could be made after the holidays.
