The 21-year-old midfielder was especially welcomed and announced through his official social media accounts Thailand national team, Changsuek.
In the video shared by Changsuek, Thanawat was even greeted directly by coach Akira Nishino.
Thanawat, who is in England, chose a different path from the Indonesian national team player, Elkan Baggott.
Elkan Baggott is actually included in the list of 28 players brought by the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, to the United Arab Emirates.
PSSI has also sent a letter to the Elkan Baggott club, Ipswich Town FC.
