Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (05/25/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 19,179 analyzes were carried out and 3,979 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 3,979 new cases, 1,856 are from Montevideo, 474 from Canelones, 265 from Salto, 258 from Maldonado, 166 from San José, 136 from Paysandú, 134 from Colonia, 100 from Tacuarembó, 98 from Artigas, 75 from Soriano, 65 from Rocha, 64 from Río Negro, 56 from Florida, 53 from Rivera, 50 from Durazno, 41 from Lavalleja, 38 from Cerro Largo, 25 from Treinta y Tres and 25 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,143,971 tests have been processed and 271,859 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 233,629 have already been recovered.

Today 51 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 3,973 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

Currently there are 34,257 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 504 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 7,550 correspond to health personnel. 7,119 of them have already recovered, 412 are suffering from the disease and 19 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 267,888. Today 3,979 new cases and a total of 271,859 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 8 cases were eliminated.
