The Public Prosecution Service is investigating the radical right-wing action platform Vizier Op Links. This is what outgoing Minister Wouter Koolmees (Integration) said during a debate in the House of Representatives.
Several reports have been filed against the platform because of a sticker campaign, in which intimidating stickers were stuck on the front door of opinion makers with a left-hand signature. The stickers read: “Observed location. This location is being observed by followers of Vizier Op Links”. Koolmees called this intimidating and transgressing norms.
SP Member of Parliament Renske Leijten believes that too little attention is paid to danger from the extreme right angle. She wants the government to act harder. According to Koolmees, attention is being paid to the extreme right “in various ways”: the fact that the Public Prosecution Service has started an investigation shows, according to the outgoing minister, that action is “indeed” taken when such intimidation occurs. The platform is also mentioned in the threat assessment of the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security.
The platform was set up in June 2020. The website regularly shares personal data of scientists, activists, opinion makers and politicians who are seen as links. Previously, the Twitter account Vizier op Links was suspended for violating the Twitter rules.
