Fabien Paul is now in pole position to become the next president of the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur in November. The former president of the Nice Commercial Court (from 2006 to 2017), who is at the helm of the Mediagest company in Nice, has in fact been selected as the leader to lead the list of UPE06 and its partners (CGPME and U2P) during the consular elections of November 2021. Weighty support while in previous elections, the UPE list always won.
Two candidates were vying for the head of the UPE06 list: besides Fabien Paul, Jean-Pierre Savarino, the current president of the Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, had positioned himself for a second term of five years. Out of 73 UPE voters, he was however narrowly beaten (by 3 votes and one blank vote) by Fabien Paul. The latter, who has participated in the activity of UPE 06 for 25 years, knows the economic fabric of the department well. In addition to his role as President of the Commercial Court of Nice, he heads the Sirius Observatory of the CCI, an observatory responsible for monitoring and local economic analysis and assumes in the CCI office of the current term of office, the role of secretary in charge of the Single Window for Business.
Fabien Paul, who must now form his list with the UPE06, should not be alone in contention in November. He will find himself faced with a list that he intends to carry Daniel sfecci. The president of the UIMM Côte d’Azur announced his candidacy in January during the vows. Faced with the anger of the UPE, which had then stigmatized a “self-proclaimed candidate”, he returned to a “candidacy for the post of leader of the UPE“. But when in March Jean-Pierre Savarino announced his decision to seek a new term, the deal was shattered. Daniel sfecci, who then left with a “free” candidacy, intends to build a union list against that of the UPE06. Enough to spice up the consular elections in November and raise the turnout.
