BOLA – Clubs unite against “discrimination” and “unjustifiable treatment” of the Government (Liga)

League and League 2 clubs will present an open letter to the Government to express their “discontent” over the “discrimination” and “unjustifiable treatment” that football has been subjected to.

This will be one of the six points to be dealt with at the extraordinary General Assembly of Liga Portugal, scheduled for June 2, at the organisation’s headquarters, in Porto.

«Presentation, discussion and voting of a proposal for an open letter to the Government, reflecting the discontent of Liga Portugal and sports societies, for the discrimination that professional football has been the object of and for the complaint of concrete measures and immediate implementation, aimed at compensating the losses resulting from this unjustifiable treatment by the Government of Portugal ”, refers to item five of the AG’s agenda, dated Monday, May 24th.

AG’s agenda:

1 – Reading and approval of the minutes of the general meeting meetings:

a) Extraordinary as of September 30, 2020;

b) ordinary as of September 30, 2020.

2. Consideration, discussion and voting on the proposals to amend the Regulations for Competitions organized by the Portuguese Professional Football League, presented by the Board;

3. Consideration, discussion and voting on proposals to amend the Disciplinary Regulation of competitions organized by the Portuguese Professional Football League, presented by the Board;

4. Consideration, discussion and voting of proposals to amend the Arbitration Rules for competitions organized by the Portuguese Professional Football League, presented by the Board;

5. Presentation, discussion and voting on the proposal for an Open Letter to the Government, reflecting the discontent of the Portugal League and Sports Societies for the discrimination that professional football has been subject to and for the complaint of concrete measures and immediate implementation, aimed at compensating the losses resulting from this unjustifiable treatment by the Government of Portugal;
