Apple will be releasing new ones at a rapid pace this spring iOSupdates and that are certainly not the least. Now it is already time for iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6, which are now available to everyone. While the update isn’t as big as the previous one, iOS 14.6 does bring some new features.
iOS 14.6 Available: These are the new features
iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 have had a relatively short testing period. In just over a month, Apple has released three betas and a Release Candidate. The number of new functions that Apple had to test was therefore limited. These are the main new features in iOS 14.6:
# 1 Prep for Apple Music Lossless and Dolby Atmos
In June, Apple will launch lossless audio and Dolby Atmos for Apple Music. You then listen to the right devices Apple Music at the highest possible sound quality. Dolby Atmos provides a more spacious sound, with the audio not only coming from left and right, but also from above, below and behind. #2 Betaalde podcasts in Apple’s Podcasts-app
As announced at the April 2021 event, the Apple Podcasts app now support paid podcasts. This is not an all-in-1 subscription: podcast creators can decide for themselves whether to offer episodes for a fee. # 3 Support for new Apple Watch watch face
Although the new watch face was added in watchOS 7.5, you also need iOS 14.6 to set it up from the iPhone. This is the 2021 version of the Pride watch face. There are two versions: a full screen version and a round version with complications. The dial matches it new Pride 2021 Apple Watch band.
# 4 AirTag improvements
In the Lost mode of the AirTag you can now choose to leave a telephone number or an e-mail address. Previously you could only choose a telephone number, but if you think that is too personal, you can also enter an e-mail address. The advantage is that you can, for example, create a separate e-mail address, especially for the AirTag. The finder of your keys, bag or other object can then contact you via that e-mail address. Also new is that a finder can now also see part of the phone number if the AirTag is not in lost mode, as soon as it is scanned via NFC.

- There may have been some degraded performance on the iPhone during startup

Apple Card Family
- Apple Card can be shared with up to five people, including anyone 13 years or older in your Family Sharing group
- Apple Card Family adds support for families to track expenses, manage spending with optional limits and controls, and build credit together

Download iOS 14.6
To download iOS 14.6, do the following:
- Go on you iPhone to Settings> General> Software Update. Wait until the update appears on the screen.
- Tap on Download and install.
- Wait until your device has rebooted and the installation is complete.
You can also update through iTunes or the Finder. To do this, close your iPhone or iPad with a cable attached to you Mac or PC and open iTunes or the Finder macOS Catalina and newer. Click on your connected device and choose Search for update. The update will then be downloaded and then installed on your device.
