On Sunday May 21, 2021, Pink received the Icon Awards from the hands of Jon Bon Jovi during the Bilboard Music Awards ceremony. On stage, the singer assured that Jon Bon Jovi had broken her heart when she was a child.
For fifteen years, Pink has been married to motocross champion, Carey Hart. If the 41-year-old singer is very much in love with the father of her two children, she was in love with Jon Bon Jovi for a long time when she was a child. When the singer married his high school girlfriend in 1989, Pink was heartbroken by then. While Jon Bon Jovi presented the Icon Award to the performer of Cover Me in Sunshine at the Billboard Music Awards ceremony, he first said: “When I first heard Pink, I was stunned. She had it all – talent, energy, a message in her songs and a stage presence that only grown-ups have.“
Speaking of the singer’s love for him, it was visibly amused that Jon Bon Jovi revealed: “The second time Pink stunned me was when I met her when she was about 22 years old. She told me that she had a crush on me when she was only 7 years old, and that when she found out that I was married, it broke her heart. Well, I felt bad and tried to make up for that by sending her a life-size flower arrangement and one of my leather pants with a note that said, ‘Now you can finally get into my pants.’” Since then, the two artists have become real friends. So the Bon Jovi star said: “It is because of this, and my deep respect for his art and his ever-growing heritage, that I am delighted that I have been asked to present him with the Icon Awards.“

On stage, Pink began her acceptance speech by referring to her long-standing crush on Jon Bon Jovi. “Okay, so I have to tell you – I think you might know this already – but I didn’t come out of my room for a week when you married Dorothea (in 1989, editor’s note). I was 8 years old. I ripped your poster off my wall and replaced you with Sebastian Bach“, she revealed. Laughing, Pink added:”I’m so glad you found lasting love Jon, but you broke my heart. I take this as an excuse.“
