L’association Tarz Road
, alerted by inhabitants of the villages of Keryan and Kergoat, in Ploemeur, noted chemical practices which, according to her, are harming “human health and the environment”. The association is worried, in a press release, that “herbicide was spilled on more than 10 ha of grassy fields, probably to sow corn, and even at the foot of the fences of houses in Kergoat! We do not understand this practice, which was already strongly criticized in May 2018 ”. And to recall, that in May 2020, “a vast path in a sensitive natural space, near Kergoat and the Lannenec pond, had also been cleared without authorization”.
The departmental services entered
For Tarz Heol, “there is damage to the environment but also to the population in this period of strong winds when chemical molecules disperse and fall back into gardens and homes. However, glyphosate or any similar product is a probably carcinogenic substance according to the World Health Organization ”. The association will once again seize the competent departmental services. “This scorched earth practice is not worthy of our agriculture. It tarnishes the image of all the farmers of Ploemeur. It is time to change agricultural practices, in particular through more organic farming in the town in order to respect the living and the health of the populations ”, pleads the association.
The association is approved “association for the protection of the environment youth education popular” by the Ministry of the Environment.
