Is constant diarrhea a warning sign?
—
My wife (70) has had severe diarrhea for a few weeks. Unfortunately, I can’t get you to see your family doctor. I’m worried, especially since she has to take high blood pressure medication every day. Maybe there is a connection. What do you advise me?

In the case of your wife, we are talking about chronic diarrhea: For more than four weeks and more than three times a day thin stools – this is by no means to be underestimated. Whatever the cause, it is important that in such a case you drink enough, at least three liters a day, because diarrhea dries out the body. Even if drinking can stimulate intestinal activity and promote diarrhea, the risk of dehydration must be averted in any case.
