Dijon leaves Ligue 1 with a victory

Dijon could not leave Ligue 1 without a last standstill. Traveling on the lawn of a Saint-Etienne team who had absolutely nothing to play, the protected David Linarès did not miss the opportunity. However, from the outset, the Greens were offensive … but above all imprecise. Indeed, perfectly served by Wahbi Khazri, Adil Aouchiche made the uprights of Saturnin Allagbé’s cage tremble. The latter then interposed on a powerful strike from Denis Bouanga. The Beninese goalkeeper once again worked miracles by leaving the frame a new attempt by Aouchiche. All in the space of eleven minutes. A fiery start from the players of Claude Puel who however gave nothing and, having let the storm pass, the Dijonnais began to discover themselves. On a free kick from Bersant Celina, Moussa Konaté put the head but Etienne Green was able to intervene to capture the ball.

Kamara relieves Dijon

The missed opportunities at the start of the match, the Stéphanois undoubtedly regretted them a lot with six minutes of half-time. On the left of the area, Aboubakar Kamara manages to recover the ball before defeating the captain of the Greens Mahdi Camara before placing a right foot strike out of reach of Etienne Green. The midfielder on loan from Fulham took advantage of the last meeting of the season to unlock his counter in Ligue 1. Emboldened by this opening scoring, the Dijonnais continued but without success until half-time. Annoyed to be led at home by the red lantern, the Greens resumed their march forward on their return to their lawn. But the lack of success of Gabriel Silva who crosses too high for Arnaud Nordin or the presence of Allagbé who intervened in front of this same Nordin on a center of Bouanga allowed the DFCO to hold the shock in a second half at One Way.

Konaté missed the break

But, pushing too much without succeeding in materializing, Saint-Etienne found himself in the same situation as in the first act. Indeed, the Dijon players came out of their shell to strike. In this case, it was the young striker Jacques Siwe who pushed Gabriel Silva into the box. The referee of the meeting did not hesitate to whistle a penalty for the DFCO and Moussa Konaté. In his duel with Etienne Green, the Dijon striker favored strength over finesse … which did not succeed. Indeed, the ball violently struck the crossbar of the Stéphanois goalkeeper. ASSE even ended this meeting at ten with the exit on injury of Aimen Moueffek twenty minutes after coming into play. However, Claude Puel had already exhausted his changes. Adil Aouchiche tried everything to equalize but without any success. For the fourth time in 38 days, Dijon emerges victorious (0-1) and thus leaves the elite with the satisfaction of having succeeded in its exit.
