6:20 p.m.

Alberta reported an additional 563 COVID-19 cases and six new deaths today.

Provincial Medical Health Director Dr. Dina Henshaw said in a series of tweets that new cases had been identified from 6,944 tests, with a positive rate of 8 percent.

Henshaw says there are currently 14,533 active cases in Alberta with 581 patients in the hospital, including 162 in the ICU.

3:50 p.m.

Saskatchewan reported 116 new cases of COVID-19 and an additional death associated with the virus.

The province’s daily epidemiological update says the deceased was over 80 years old and was in the southeastern region.

Saskatchewan has 1,662 cases considered active and 27 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

3:15 p.m.

New Brunswick public health officials have reported 14 new cases of COVID-19.

Authorities also reported eight new recoveries since Saturday, meaning the number of active cases in the province now stands at 128.

Most of the cases were identified in the Fredericton area, where eight infections were found, while two cases were reported in Moncton, three in Bathurst and one in Miramichi.

Authorities say eight patients are currently in the hospital.

2:30 in the afternoon

Nova Scotia authorities today reported 74 new COVID-19 cases and two additional virus-related deaths, bringing the official death toll in the province to 79.

Health officials say the deaths occurred in the central region, and a man and a woman in their seventies.

The province says 61 of the new infections are in the central region, nine in the eastern region, three in the northern region and one in the western region.

The province now has 943 active cases of the disease.

2:15 p. M.

Manitoba has reported 461 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death.

The province says in its daily epidemiological update that the deceased was a man in his eighties from the Southern Health District.

Manitoba currently has 5,072 active cases of COVID-19, and there are 74 people in intensive care who either have COVID-19 or are no longer contagious but still need critical care.

Manitoba’s five-day test positive rate is 14.5% countywide and 16.7% in Winnipeg.

1:25 pm

Newfoundland and Labrador reported 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases today, bringing the number of active cases in the province to 87.

Three of the new cases are clustered in the Central Health District, and officials say there are now 24 cases of the disease linked to the growing cluster of infections.

Public Health advises against nonessential travel in and out of Lewisporte to the Summerford area where the mass has been located.

Authorities say four people in the province are hospitalized due to the illness.

11:10 am

The Quebec government has reported 477 new cases of COVID-19 in addition to three new deaths related to the epidemic.

The number of hospitalizations decreased from three to 421, while the number of people in intensive care remained stable at 103.

Health workers administered 8,3871 doses of vaccine on Saturday, for a total of 4,929,054 since vaccination efforts began.

10:30 a. M.

Ontario today reported 1,691 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, along with 15 new deaths related to the virus.

The number of COVID-19-related hospitalizations now stands at 1,041, with 693 patients in intensive care and 480 on ventilators.

The province says it has officially administered more than eight million vaccines since the vaccination campaign began, including more than 140,000 vaccines on Saturday.

The numbers come as vaccine eligibility expands across the county to include residents 12 years of age and older to date.
