The Karawang Health Office recorded 278 dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) patients in the last five months. The case of DHF in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic has caught the attention of the Karawang Regency Government.
“There have been 278 cases from the beginning of this month to this month,” said Acting Kadinkes Karawang Nanik Jodjana after monitoring the implementation. fogging at Perum Graha Puspa, Karawang, Monday (24/5/2021).
According to him, this year’s dengue cases are not as bad as the previous year’s. In addition, he explained, there are five districts in Karawang that are prone to dengue cases, namely Telukjambe Timur, Karawang Barat, Karawang Timur, Klari, and Cikampek.
“This year it is not worse than last year, although this dengue case is a priority in terms of prevention,” said Nanik.
Deputy Regent Aep Syaepuloh appealed to the local government to intensify efforts to prevent dengue fever. “The regent through his circular has instructed the sub-district head to promote community service, cleaning, for the prevention of dengue fever,” said Aep, adding that his party had coordinated with the Health Office to carry out fogging in these five dengue-prone districts.
At Perum Graha Puspa, 11 cases of DHF were recorded during the last two months. “Three months ago, now eight residents, so a total of 11 people are affected by dengue fever, the remaining 4 people are hospitalized,” said the Head of RT, Hendi (53), when met at the location.
Head of Karangpawitan Urban Village, Dodo Wijaya, said that in two villages in Karangpawitan Village, West Karawang District, there had been 20 cases of DHF from early January to May.
“There are nine cases in Kepuh Aljariyah Village, all of which have recovered. Then in Perum Graha Puspa there are 11 cases, 4 people are being treated. I always tell RT and carry out community service activities so that the environment is healthy, clean, and protected from dengue,” he said. Dodo.
