Liquid rock masses were spit out of the Nyiragongo volcano after it came to life on Saturday.
Thousands of people fled their homes, and some crossed the border into neighboring Rwanda. On Sunday, however, it seemed that the situation was under control again.
– The lava stopped near Buhene, on the outskirts of Goma. The city has been spared, said General Constant Ndima, the military governor of the area.
