After a suspension of classes of more than 1 year, the country’s schools were closed due to the pandemic; the older teachers were confined and the younger ones proceeded with extreme care to prevent possible contagion.
That was at the beginning, but while the continuation of the classes was being organized, the virtual education system was implemented, where as we all know the teachers send their teachings through electronic media and believe me it was an unexpected change, not foreseen and in In many cases, a large majority of students could not be integrated into this system, because they did not have computers, tablets and even cell phones, since they could not be adapted in areas where there were no internet services and also the lack of knowledge in management of this online education system; However, over the weeks we were able to make adjustments and we must accept that most families made the effort to find the devices so that their children could receive the corresponding education and we say that it is a great effort because not all families count. with the resource to be able to acquire them.
The decision made by the Ministry of Public Education in many states is according to the statistics of the infections that are marked in the traffic light that has been established to know the severity of the pandemic and now throughout the country it seems that with the vaccination in Many have been able to establish that most of the states are already in yellow, which is the immediate precedent to go down to green, which is the most reliable color, but it definitely does not protect at all from a possible contagion. It is also important to say that in most of the country teachers have received the corresponding vaccination and that guarantees that they cannot be infected and become seriously ill in schools.
Now, how should we think if the decision has been good? For that we have to say that at least in our state, face-to-face classes have not started in all colleges, technology and universities; in some, they have decided not to start classes until the traffic light turns green, but we believe that it is now necessary for children and young people to attend educational centers. And we say it because online education can never totally replace the efficiency of face-to-face classes, and I mean in the educational field.
In the social aspect, our children and young people in this long period of not attending classes in schools have suffered damage that is not yet fully specified, but we can think that school is not only the aspect of receiving the classes, but also that the students can establish a friendship relationship between themselves, which is quite necessary and also because obviously the civic ceremonies that were carried out in the schools and all the acts of school development left with their absence a significant delay and the lack of sports for physical and mental development that has definitely affected all the students in the country.
Students who return to schools find new classmates who they had in the same grade as when classes were suspended and this is because many students dropped out for different reasons, such as tuition fees in private schools and school. lack of space in schools in the official sector.
In Mexico City, the president said that classes would start on June 7, a decision that will have to be evaluated, because the day before is the nationwide elections.
