Kickers also despair in the second leg at FSV Frankfurt at the Ex-Offenbacher Endres – 0-0
Kickers Offenbach and FSV Frankfurt part ways for the second time this season with a 0-0 draw – this time on the Bornheimer slope. Memories of the first leg are awakened, because the OFC is desperate for the same man as back then.
Frankfurt – History has repeated itself, this time on the Bornheimer slope. As in the first leg, Kickers Offenbach and FSV Frankfurt also parted 0-0 in the second half of the duel of the Südwest regional soccer league. Again Daniel Endres was the player of the game. The former Offenbacher in goal of the hosts saved his team a lucky point with several strong saves and was in focus several times after the game.
First he made the heat up in the middle of the group of players, because he was celebrated by the FSV parliamentary group in the stands with “Egges” shouts.
At the same time, Lucas Albrecht was on the edge of the field to answer questions from the media representatives. “The other team is cheering and we are a little broken,” said the OFC defensive man, summarizing the mood on both sides. “The bigger chances were with us,” he said. Therefore, the draw is “annoying”. Also because it was “a bit like the first leg” overall.
The coaches also felt reminded of the first season duel between the two teams on March 30th. “It was similar to the first leg,” summed up Sreto Ristic (OFC). “Endres got the point for FSV both times.” Thomas Brendel (FSV) spoke of a “mirror image of the first leg” and was “satisfied with the performance”. Ristic, on the other hand, was “disappointed with the result”, but at the same time emphasized: “The way we would have deserved to win.”
Although his team “didn’t get much in front of goal” in the first half, it could have taken the lead after just two minutes when Tunay Deniz (was yellowed for the 15th of this season and will be banned from the next game) completely free in the 16 after a cross from the left did not hit the ball properly. Chances for the FSV mostly resulted from mistakes of the kickers, of which there were some. But it never became really dangerous for OFC goalkeeper Stephan Flauder.
In the second half, the OFC came to an end more often, also thanks to the tailwind. “Five or six chances that we could have used,” Ristic had counted. When the ball hit Frankfurter Tor, however, it was the end of the line at Endre’s. The FSV goalkeeper directed Albrecht’s header against the post (66th) and also parried against Denis Huseinbasic (82nd, Schlenzer) and substitute striker Mathias Fetsch (90th, header).
The best man on the pitch commented on his performance with a grin. “The result is the same” and he is there to keep the gate clean, said the 36-year-old. “The OFC had the better options, but we earned the points. We can be proud to have scored 0-0 against one of the top favorites in the league. ”At the Kickers, the mood wasn’t nearly as good. In the struggle “for prestige and honor” (Fetsch) one had hoped for more. In addition, in the event of a win, the deficit on leaders SC Freiburg II (only 0-0 at Hessen Kassel) would have been reduced to six points and thus possibly again vaguely hoping for first place. Instead, it went down due to the victory of SSV Ulm in 1846 (3-1 at TSV Schott Mainz) – from third to fourth place. (By Christian Düncher)
