Children’s Day, June 1, is a day off by law. This is a Tuesday, but the Government has not established that Monday is also a day off so that Romanians have a mini-holiday. The Minister of Labor advises Romanians to take a day off if they want an extended weekend.
Raluca Turcan stated that Romanians can take a day off, Monday, May 31, if they want to bridge the weekend.
“The discussion is a little more delicate. I know a lot of people would like this bridge to exist. On the other hand, they can take a day off. There is a legal option to take a day off to create this bridge “, said Raluca Turcan.
On the other hand, she stated that for the tourism industry “it would probably be very good for people to be able to benefit from a few days off, to access tourist services”. However, the minister said that the best option is for people to take a day off. “My point is that this is the best option, to take a day off,” said Raluca Turcan.
The Minister of Labor specified that there has not yet been a discussion at the Government level regarding the possibility that Monday, May 31, will be free.
