The National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety issued an eight-game suspension to Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri on Friday night.

The repeat offender received this penalty for a blow he served to St. Louis Blues defenseman Justin Faulk on Wednesday, in the second game of the series between the two teams.
The full-back was hit in the head midway through the third period and lay on the ice for a long time. He walked to the locker room and did not return to the game. His attacker was kicked out of the game.
This is the third time Kadri has received a playoff suspension. In 2019, when he wore the colors of the Maple Leafs, the Ontarian was penalized for a double check against Jake DeBrusk of the Boston Bruins in the second game of the series involving the Toronto club. He was then punished for the remainder of this playoff showdown. The year before, he had been suspended three games for giving strength to Bruins forward Tommy Wingels. Since 2013, he has received five suspensions.
Kadri’s punishment will begin in the third game of the series against the Blues, which the Avalanche are currently leading 2-0. If the suspension is not fully served during the current playoffs, the remaining games will be served at the start. of the 2021-2022 regular season.
