New York: Hip-Hop Museum is born

With music stars like Nas, LL Cool J and Grandmaster Flash, the foundation stone for a new hip-hop museum has been laid in New York. The construction of the exhibition hall in the Bronx neighborhood is expected to be completed in 2024 and will cost around $ 80 million. “Hip-hop is one of the things that gave my life meaning,” said LL Cool J at the laying of the foundation stone on Thursday local time. Hip-Hop is said to have originated in the Bronx in the 1970s, when musicians like DJ Kool Herc didn’t play the entire songs on their records, but only the instrumental parts between the vocals – then there was spoken chanting.
