Together with the local community in Vienna, Facebook presents the first Community City Guide for Austria. The guide contains exciting tips about the Austrian capital – whether it’s restaurants, cafés or concept stores. Thanks to the Viennese Facebook groups, the guide offers insights into special places in the city that many Viennese certainly did not know before. The City Guide was photographed by Nuriel Molcho.
The groups and pages that worked on the guide are examples of the many small and large communities on Facebook, in which people from all over Austria with common interests meet and exchange ideas every day. The following groups contributed to the guide: Zero Waste Vienna, Vienna group, Activities in Vienna (ActiVIEties), Yoga in Vienna.
Tips to support favorite restaurants
The City Guide shows the importance of small and medium-sized companies for Vienna. They are not only the heart of the domestic economy, but also shape Viennese culture and do their part to ensure that the quality of life in Vienna has been so high for years. At the same time, SMEs are particularly affected by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and are currently facing major challenges. The Vienna City Guide therefore contains tips on how companies and private individuals can use the various functions on Facebook for the benefit of companies in Vienna.
The City Guide is now available in the MuseumsQuartier (Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Vienna) and is online at https://cityguides.fb.com/wien available in German and English. In addition to Vienna, the project has already been implemented for Bordeaux, Brussels, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Krakow, Leipzig, Lisbon, Lyon, Moscow, Oslo, Porto, Rotterdam, Seville, Stuttgart and Zurich.
