WhatsApp is accused of secretly adjusting its settings | The hardware community for PC gamers

Just BS with the chain letter. I also got it twice and instructed the two senders directly what this setting does and what is no longer possible afterwards.

I’ve always been on ‘everyone’ and will continue to be. If someone has my phone number and would like to invite me to a group, they are welcome to do so. Where is the problem? Nowadays people change their phone numbers like underwear, I would only make it more complicated not to allow these people to invite me to a group just because I no longer update their phone numbers in my contacts every 2 days (to put it bluntly).

Doesn’t do anything anyway. As long as you have not explicitly blocked a number in WhatsApp (we are talking about blacklisting, whitelisting does not exist in WhatsApp), EVERYONE can send you a message via WhatsApp if they have saved their own number in their contacts. So why the fuss? If someone can’t invite you to a group (and you know that person), come along a few seconds later:

“Hey, please save my number so I can invite you.”

Extra complicated and cumbersome …

So I’ve never received advertisements or invitations to any dubious groups on WhatsApp. Telegram yes, Facebook too (but no problem either -> laughed briefly about the BS and left the group). My number is also not in the phone book. Sure, she’ll have hit the net here and there with a data leak, but to be honest … Wayne?

If you want to be sure: Please do not use WhatsApp. Very easily.

But please do not write or forward such “conspiracy chain letters”. Just annoying. Is just as questionable as all the jokers who write on their own Facebook wall “I hereby forbid Facebook to be allowed to pass on my pictures to third parties or to be allowed to pass on content to courts that can then be used against me” or any nonsense . Seriously now? By using the site itself and anyway by registering, you agree to the terms and conditions. Nobody cares, especially not Facebook, what is there on their own pin board … I also don’t write on my fuel receipt at the gas station that I do not agree to future mineral oil tax increases … Who cares?

Unbelievable what some people believe.

It doesn’t surprise me that many people fall for cyber criminals, despite extremely badly made fake emails with insane sender addresses.

And you notice: A copied text message from “Heinz” on Facebook or WhatsApp or a screenshot of it is not a reliable source!
