A rapid test remains an important currency in current life. Although the number of people twice vaccinated is growing, so is the demand for tests. After Ascension Day was only tested very little in the Heidenau test center, more is expected on the weekend of Pentecost. The number of tests on weekends is increasing and the rush is high at times, says Johanniter spokesman Danilo Schulz. The maximum waiting time was previously around 20 minutes.

Most people come either early or in the evening; lunchtime is usually the fastest. If you want to get there without waiting, you can book an appointment online. Many still do that. Time can now also be saved by having the result sent to their cell phone. But if you want, you can also get it printed out.

Blood donations are now also possible

Currently around 500 tests can be carried out a day. This capacity can be increased if necessary, but this is not currently planned, says Schulz.

The first Haema blood donation appointment will take place on Friday, May 21, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. More are to follow in the course of the year. It is particularly important to donate blood during the pandemic, says Schulz.
