The Whitsun week program of various Munich children’s and youth institutions promises games, art and knowledge
Even if the weather and viruses are firmly against it, the Munich children’s clubs and youth clubs offer a varied program for the little ones and the older ones during this year’s Whitsun holidays. The holiday program of the Feierwerk in Westpark this year is all about the fine arts. From Wednesday, June 2nd to Saturday, June 5th, children from four years of age will follow the trail of art icons. The organizers inspire the young people to create colorful portraits in the style of Frida Kahlo and upcycling handicrafts à la Hundertwasser. Registration at [email protected] is requested.
The Biku Association offers artistic all-day care with the “Applause” program. At the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium in Neuhaus, the participating children and young people from six to 18 years of age attend a dance course, a vertical cloth workshop and a creative academy, among other things. Information, prices and registration options are available at www.applaus-xtra.org/ferienprogramm.
The Kreisjugendring München-Stadt (KJR) offers special holiday learning courses for the qualifying secondary school leaving certificate and the middle school leaving certificate in 18 leisure centers. The four to five-day courses cost between twelve and 15 euros each. The school training courses take place online or in person, depending on the institution. The participating leisure facilities and further information on registration can be found at www.kjr-m.de to see. In addition, the KJR has already published its entire program for the Whitsun and summer holidays. Under www.ferien-extra.de the offer of around 20 children and youth facilities of the KJR is listed in the coming months.
Regardless of time and registration, a virtual paper chase in Giesing, which young people have created together with local associations, works. On the occasion of Joseph Beuys’ 100th birthday, those inquisitive can discover the life of the deceased artist with a so-called actionbound. Access under: www.kurzelinks.de/c8zc.
The children’s program at the Ecological Education Center in Bogenhausen is entirely dedicated to playing and learning outdoors. Tuesday, May 25th through Thursday, May 27th, there will be three full-day program items. In addition to outdoor exercise, a creative day with plants and a carving course are also planned there. Children and young people can register at www.oebz.de/kinderprogramm. For young people who would like to do handicrafts but cannot afford the materials, the associations Echo and Educational Action Spielkultur are putting together “Corona emergency aid packages for art and design”. Families in Munich and Dachau should write to the address [email protected] if necessary. On www.kiku-online.net Children will also find tips for handicrafts.
