After a CSE (social and economic council) exceptional, which lasted five hours, this Thursday, May 20, 2021, the workers of the factory Pastry cook (Locminé) returned to work this evening at 9 p.m. The plant had been shut down since Monday.
Negotiations with management were long and difficult, “and would have been complicated without the support of Christian Cadio, FO delegate, and a CFDT delegate employee. “But the staff representatives (since there is no union represented at Gaillard) obtained several advances (1):” The management granted an increase of 2% for all workers. This is what was requested. Saturday work will be done on a voluntary basis, with an increase from 25 to 50%. “
“Huge pressure”
The triggering threshold for the incentive bonus has also been revised downwards.
But an essential point was also raised during this extraordinary meeting, “these are the psychological risks. Before the financial aspect, we wanted our management to be aware of this. There is tremendous pressure at the factory. The rates are increasing, staff are being removed. It’s hard… ”do not hide several employees.
The strong mobilization of the last three days (with three quarters of the workforce present on the site this afternoon) reflects this staff fatigue, within a company where labor disputes are extremely rare. The last dated back to 1992, and concerned the announcement of layoffs (which did not take place, in fine).
