After two very challenging stages, cyclists will be able to breathe a little during the flat stage from Ravenna to romantic Verona, where they will not have to cross a single hill. The only task will be to cross the 198-kilometer-long road and fight for points, resp. seconds on two sprint bonuses.

This stage pays tribute to the writer and philosopher Dante Alighieri on the 700th anniversary of his death. He therefore begins in Ravenna, where he is buried, and ends in Verona, where he lived several years after emigrating.
As the peloton slowly approached the largest mountains, the Italian organizers decided to give the sprinters another chance. It is possible, though very unlikely, for a group of daredevils to decide to escape at the beginning of the stage. However, the almost 200-kilometer route does not give them much hope of success.
The first sprint bonus comes after 67 kilometers in Ferrara, the second is located 77 kilometers later, in the town of Bagnolo San Vito.
The whole stage will take place on a total level and the only problems can be caused by strong winds. If it blows, a seemingly simple day can become a complicated stage.
A mass journey is expected at the finish. The final three kilometers will be a straight and wide road, which will be disrupted by only two roundabouts. The winner will be the one who has the most strength in his legs, will be the fastest and most successful in terms of position.

On Friday we can probably look forward to a genuine sprint ride. In a purely flat stage, he will fight for the cyclamen jersey again. Adept to win the scoring competition by the end of the Giro d’Italia 2021 does not have many opportunities to take off Petr Sagan’s cyclamen jersey, so it can be expected that the native from Žilina will have to show the dynamite he hides in his legs again on Friday. At the end of the stage, he will definitely fight for victory.
