The Czechia has a swimming champion. Kraulařka Seemanová is the European champion in the 200 m

Swimmer Barbora Seeman completed her campaign with the European Championship in Budapest to the title in the 200-meter freestyle. After the fastest times in the heats and semi-finals, she improved her own Czech record in the finals by 69 hundredths to 1: 56.27 and in the close ended she defeated the reigning world champion Federica Pellegrini from Italy by two hundredths.

Twenty-one-year-old Seeman took care of the first Czech title from the long pool after nine years, when her breastwoman Petra Chocová triumphed in her fifties in Debrecen, Hungary.

The last time one of the Czech pool swimmers won a medal at any big event was in 2013, when at the European Championships in the short pool she won three individual precious metals and a relay bronze, signed by Simona Kubová, then still as Baumrtová.

Today in Budapest, she unsuccessfully tried to advance to the finals of the 100-meter race. In the semifinals, she improved the time from the heat by thirteen hundredths, but again she did not get under a minute and with the performance of 1: 00.43 she took 13th place. She was 43 hundredths apart from advancing to the final eight.

Another Olympian, Kristýna Horská, did the same for the 200-meter breaststroke. In the semifinals, she improved by 1.3 seconds compared to the heat by 2: 26.11. Even that was enough for her thirteenth place. To advance to the finals, she would need to significantly improve her own Czech record of 2: 25.24.
