From May 27, a mobile Covid-19 vaccination team will go to the municipalities of the Rhône furthest from health centers, to offer people over 50 a first injection of the Moderna vaccine, indicates a press release from the department. of the Rhône.

In order to speed up the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and to allow all Rhone residents to protect themselves against this virus, the ARS Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, the Region, the Rhône Department, health insurance and the North West Hospital will set up a mobile vaccination team in the territory.

The device will be installed for two days in seven communes of the Rhône.

Three health professionals – made available by the ARS – will have 70 to 80 doses of the Moderna vaccine available to them daily. As with the Pfizer vaccine, Moderna uses messenger RNA and has an efficiency percentage of 94 to 95% (sources: ARS Île-de-France, April 21, 2021).

Three administrative agents – made available by the Region – will also be present to welcome the public, fill out medical files, provide the vaccination certificate and schedule the second injection.

This operation is intended for people aged over 50 receiving their first injection, favoring the registration of isolated groups or those with mobility difficulties.

The Rhône Department, which coordinates this operation, has offered seven municipalities to host the mobile team in order to guarantee a real local offer.

These municipalities will be responsible for contacting the neighboring municipalities and establishing a list of priority people and volunteers for vaccination; provide a room, equipped in accordance with health protocol, to receive people who wish to be vaccinated.

Vaccination hours are 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm.

Registration is done directly with the town halls concerned.
