CIUDAD REAL, May 20. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has offered data taking advantage of the fact that this Thursday the traditional collection of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) is celebrated, pointing to the fact that in the region, and thanks to the detection programs of colon and cervix cancer launched by your Government, nearly 21,800 cases are detected early.
During his intervention after the signing of an action protocol with the City Council in Ciudad Real, he has specified the statistics, which goes through 588,000 tests to detect colon cancer that have resulted in 20,000 positives, 4,800 cases of cancer in early study and even 10,000 people with benign tumor detected.
Regarding cervical cancer, 50,000 women are summoned a year for a cytology in Primary Care, diagnosing 1,800 positive cases.
Breast cancer detection, for its part, cites 82,000 women a year, achieving nearly half a thousand early diagnoses.
“We do not know how many have saved their lives, but there are thousands. Isn’t it worth spending money on this? This has a lot of political, moral and conscientious value,” he assured.
