Children under 25 years of age will be recipients of the “Cine + Joven” project of the City Council and Multicines Ortega, in order to facilitate access to the various screenings that are scheduled during the week and which will entail a discount of three euros per ticket, in an initiative with the one that the government team seeks to collaborate with such a unique company in Puertollano that in recent months has seen its activity diminished as a result of sanitary restrictions.
Children and young people who benefit from these vouchers, two per month, will only have to pay two euros at the box office when accessing the weekly screenings of the multiplex cinema.
A project with which to support this company so deeply rooted in Puertollano while helping to stimulate interest and passion for cinema among young audiences. “We are aware that it is not being easy, but we also see the desire with which they fight every day so that their business does not decline and thus contribute to the growth of the local economy,” explained the spokeswoman for the government team, Ana Carmona.
This discount will not be valid for “VOSE Sessions” (5 euros, including popcorn), “Spectator’s Day” (4 euros) or other offers that the cinema may have in force during the validity period of the Cine + Joven voucher. The tickets purchased with this discount will also be accumulated in the loyalty card of the aforementioned establishment.
Discount vouchers can be collected at the Youth Center and at the Municipal Library, during its opening hours, by presenting the national identity document. Two vouchers will be given per person per month, up to a total of 1,000 that will be valid until December 31 of this year.
A program that has started with the delivery of the first discount vouchers between the Pinardi, Arco Iris, Red Cross Youth and Cáritas associations, whose common denominator is to contribute to the revitalization of childhood and youth, the work with groups in exclusion and social risk or vulnerable people. “We need these types of organizations to reach so many who require our help,” said Carmona.
A film program that will be possible thanks to the contribution of 3,000 euros from the Provincial Council through the Ciudad Real Activa-Autónomos Plan, requested from the Puertollano City Council.
“We need them all”
Raquel Ortega, manager-owner of the cinema company, thanked the initiative of the department of childhood and youth and hopes that it will be another step towards the public’s reunion with the cinema after months of pandemic and restrictions. “The doors of Multicines Ortega are open to everyone in difficult times, that together we help each other. The truth is that we need you all ”.
